Learning Elements - Introduction

This article defines LMS Learning Elements.

Learning Elements

In general, Learning Elements are simply various types of Learning Content.

Once you have created a basic Learning Catalog folder structure, you can start adding Learning Elements (LE). 

Many forms of digital information which can be opened or accessed through a User's ordinary web browser can be utilized as Learning Elements.

The Accord LMS comes with a built-in Assessment Authoring tool for creating quizzes and exams in addition to a Survey Authoring tool to create miscellaneous User surveys; such as course evaluations or feedback.

Your catalog can be populated with traditional-type Learning Elements which are commonly based on a Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM). These may be presentations, quizzes and surveys created using third-party SCORM compliant authoring tools. 

You may also use Non-SCORM Learning Elements. These might be desktop sharing, WebEx, a URL, site page, site module, document file, high definition video, forum, mentor chat, etc.

Learning Elements may also be Instructor Led Training Sessionswhether in-person or virtual, which may be live sessions held in real-time, or pre-recorded.
