This article will describe the purpose and process of importing LMS Teams.
Purpose behind Importing Teams
Why are Teams used?
Teams are used to organize various learners into logically segmented groups.
Teams may represent different departments or different company locations.
The Team Import feature allows Teams to be quickly imported and created within your LMS.
If you want to create a full Team hierarchy or add multiple Teams, you have the efficient option of using the Team Import feature.
Rather than adding Teams to the LMS in bulk, should you desire to create some individual Teams, from the left-hand menu click on Teams.

What is Needed to Import Teams?
The Team Import process begins by setting up any Teams desired for import in a (.csv) file which can then be readily uploaded into your Accord LMS portal.
Important Comments Regarding (.csv) Files Used for Import
The (.csv) file is processed from the top down. Parent Teams must either already exist in the system or be listed in the (.csv) file before the Child Team which references them.
Duplicate Team Names will not Import.
Errors will result if the same Team Name already exists within the LMS or if duplicated within the (.csv) file being imported.

Once you get to the page, under Sample Import Types go to Teams Import.
Process to Import Teams
- Login with LMS Admin credentials.
- Ensure the proper Current Team is selected. Menu located lower-left of screen.
- From the menu on left, expand the Advanced tab and click the Configuration tab.
- From the Configuration page click on Import Data.
The Legacy Import Data panel will display.*
*Ensure to have any Teams you wish to import during this process preselected and listed on a .csv file.
- Click heading for Team Import to open this panel.
- Next to Select CSV File, click button to select a Teams .csv file from your system.
- Once the .csv file has downloaded into this field click Import.
After clicking Import a confirmation message will display, telling the number of new Teams imported and created within the LMS Team hierarchy during this process.
Any Import failures: Certain conditions as they might relate to any import failures will display directly underneath the confirmation message; potentially helping to isolate and identify reasons for failure.
After clicking Import and navigating to the LMS Teams tab, you will see your newly imported Teams displayed within the Team hierarchy under the All Members Team.
