When using the Accord LMS, hovering over information icons displays helpful tips.

This article will briefly describe and demonstrate the usage of Points and Badges.

Education Activity Points

You can create any type or any number of Education Activities for your training material.

Simply put, Learners earn Activity Points by successfully completing Learning Elements which can have various points assigned.

Learning Elements (LE) have their associated Activities and Points assigned through their LE Details panel.

Learner's may access these details from their My Courses or Electives tabs.

Once the LE is completed by a Learner, points are then awarded.

Activity points can be applied towards Badges and Leaderboards.

Badges are types of recognition for a given level of achievement or competency.

Systematically speaking, a Badge is simply a visual icon, awarded for accumulating a required number of Activity Points.

Badges are typically used to indicate that a specific certification has been satisfied, a competency earned, or a given Learner has completed a certain task at a level worthy of special acknowledgment.

When a Learner completes any assigned training necessary to earn a number of points required for a specific Badge, a Badge 'toast' notification will popup and display in the top right corner of their screen.

In Conclusion

LMS Points and Badges can be used to set certain standards necessary for various certifications and may also be utilized to encourage Learner engagement.
