Allow a Learner to Self-Update their Learner Profile

When using the Accord LMS, hovering over information icons displays helpful tips.


This article will describe the process to allow Learners to update their Profile information through the use of a Survey.

An LMS Admin has the option of using the LE-Type Survey as a tool which allows Learners to self-update their own Profile information.

Add a Survey Learning Element into your Catalog

  • Ensure the proper Current Team is selected. Menu located lower-left of screen.

  • From the main tab menu at left select the Catalog tab.

The page will refresh, opening to the Catalog page.

  • Locate the Folder you wish to add a Survey and hover to highlight. This will prompt it's menu buttons to display.

  • Click menu buttons to display this Folder's context menu.

  • From menu select Add Learning Element.*

The +NEW button located at the top of the Folders can also be used for this purpose once a given Folder has been highlighted.

  • Once the Add Learning Element panel opens, click on Choose from List on left and select Survey.

When the Survey details panel opens.

Under the General Settings tab.

  • Enter a required Name.

  • Learning Element Format: Most normally default settings may be used. Use the associated dropdown menu to select alternate formats.

To Allow Learners to Self-Update Profile Information

  • Use the Survey Questions tab on left to author and enter your Survey questions.

  • For any questions you want linked and updated to a Learner's Profile, next to Type, use the associated dropdown menu to select Profile Data.*

*This will allow any fields from a Learner's Profile to be updated through this Survey; such as phone number, address, Skype ID, etc.

  • After entering your chosen settings ensure to click Save & Close to create this Survey.

The new Survey will now display as a new Learning Element within the LEARNING CONTENT field of the Folder where it was created.


A Survey can be applied as a tool which allows Learners to update their own Profile information.
